SIMCOE MUSKOKA – As of Sept. 6, the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit’s (SMDHU) clinic office at 403-80 Bradford St. in Barrie will be temporarily closed for maintenance and renovations until early 2023. All other health unit offices remain open to the public and the dental, sexual health and immunization clinics offered at 80 Bradford St. will continue to be available to the public as follows:
Dental clinic services
- Dental clinic services are available by appointment at the health unit’s Gravenhurst dental clinic located at 5 Pineridge Gate, Gravenhurst.
Harm reduction services
- Needle exchange program supplies are available at 80 Bradford St. from the Gilbert Centre located in suite 555 and the John Howard Society in suite 228. Additional pick-up locations in Barrie can also be found on our website.
- Free, take-home Naloxone kits and training are available without a prescription for people at risk of overdose and their family and friends at many community health centres and pharmacies across the region.
Sexual health services
- Sexual health services are still available by appointment at the health unit’s 15 Sperling Dr. office in Barrie.
Immunization services
- Publicly funded routine immunizations and COVID-19 vaccinations are available by appointment at the health unit’s offices in Collingwood, Cookstown, Midland, Orillia, Gravenhurst, Huntsville, and the office at 15 Sperling Dr. in Barrie.
