Board of Health

The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit offers a wide range of programs and public health services focused on promoting and protecting health, and preventing disease, disability and injury. These programs and services are funded by municipal and provincial tax dollars. The Board of Health governs the affairs of the health unit and oversees agency operations.

The Board of Health consists of 15 members, including four representatives from the County of Simcoe, two representatives from the District of Muskoka, two representatives from the City of Barrie, one representative from the City of Orillia and six citizens appointed by the Lieutenant Governor in Council, through the Provincial Appointments Secretariat.
