Food and Nutrition

Fixed income

Having money to buy food can be challenging for some. Setting a budget and sticking to it should be the main priority. Plan menus that provide foods from Canada's Food Guide for you and those you are feeding prior to going shopping. Stick to your grocery list, and focus on the perimeter of the grocery store. Try not to get tempted by flashy displays or other advertising gimmicks. Recognize that the more ready-made foods you buy, the higher the costs will be. Plan to cook most meals from scratch to keep food costs low.
