Municipalities

Sample Policies

Some municipalities may choose to create an internal idling control policy for their municipal fleet to either compliment their idling control by-law or as a precursor to its creation. Municipalities often choose to create policies in advance of by-laws to demonstrate leadership. This type of policy is implemented to guide the behaviour of municipal staff while conducting municipal business. Below we have provided samples of fleet policies to help you get started as well as the Health Unit's internal vehicle idling policy. You may have specific circumstances in your municipality which should be considered in the drafting of a policy to best meet your municipality’s needs.
