Poverty & Household Food Insecurity: the Affordability of a Healthy Diet in Simcoe and Muskoka

The combined costs of rent and a healthy diet are out of the reach of many low-income residents of Simcoe and Muskoka.

Paying for other basics — such as telephone, transportation, school expenses, and household and personal care items — puts them even further behind.  Policies to increase income and supports for vulnerable people are the key to addressing household food insecurity.
