Get Your Child Ready for a Healthy Summer
As families gear up for a fun and active summer, the health unit is reminding parents to make sure their children’s immunizations are up to date. Keeping up with routine immunizations is one of the best ways to help protect kids’ health and ensure they’re ready for activities like camps, sports and family travel.
Are Your Child’s Immunizations Up to Date?
In June, parents of students born in 2016 and 2017 (Grades 2 and 3) across Simcoe Muskoka received letters if their child was missing required immunizations. If you received one of these letters, summer is a great time to catch up!
How to Catch Up on Immunizations
1. Book an appointment with your health care provider.
2. Families without a health care provider can book an immunization appointment at one of the SMDHU offices in:
- Barrie
- Collingwood
- Cookstown
- Gravenhurst
- Huntsville
