Crib Cards

The crib card was developed with support from the Near North Baby Friendly Initiative Committee consisting of representatives from Simcoe Muskoka hospitals and Midwives Groups.

The crib card is used as a health teaching tool to reinforce key messages for new parents and support the transition of care between hospital and community services. The crib card supports all families, regardless of their infant feeding decision. The card provides information on the following:

  • taking care of self
  • early feeding cues and signs that feeding is going well
  • skin-to-skin
  • hand expression
  • free supports and services

There are 5 versions of the crib card that reflect community supports available in 5 geographic locations: Barrie/South Simcoe, Collingwood, Midland, Muskoka and Orillia.

  • Hospitals and Midwifery practices can order crib cards by emailing your requests to [email protected]
