Road Safety Focus Report

Many aspects have to be taken into consideration when talking about safety on our road ways.  Motor vehicle collisions are the cause of a significant number of deaths in Ontario.  There have been 2401 deaths on Ontario Roads between 2008 and 2012.

The "Big 4" contributing factors:

  • Speeding
  • Impairment
  • Distraction
  • Not wearing a seat belt

Not only do we have to be concerned with drivers of motor vehicles, we also have to consider the safety of cyclists and pedestrians.
