It Covers:
- Health Effects: Explains how vaping impacts physical and mental health, especially for youth.
- Industry Tactics: Reveals how companies market vaping products to young people.
- Quitting Support: Offers tools like customizable quit plans and links to apps that help youth stop vaping.
- Educator Resources: Includes lesson plans and interactive activities like an escape room.
- Parent Outreach: Provides conversation starters and guides to help parents talk to their kids about vaping.
Teaching and Learning
Using credible resources and activities that align with Ontario curriculum can help students develop age-appropriate knowledge and learn new skills to improve their health.
NotAnExperiment.ca includes a variety of educator resources for Elementary and Secondary Schools. Resources include escape room games, lesson plans, school announcements, posters and much more.
For Elementary or Secondary schools interested in running their own Not an Experiment Escape Room, the health unit has Escape Room lending kits available.
Secondary Schools can also request a Take the Clouds Outside display staffed by the health unit. This display supports Smoke-Free Ontario Act, 2017 compliance, educates about secondhand vapour, supports quit attempts and assists with reducing social exposure to vaping.
