Immunization Information for Child Care Operators in Licensed Child Care Settings
Child Care Operators are required under the Child Care and Early Years Act to collect and submit a current immunization record to the health unit for each child attending half or full day child care. Immunization records are not required for children attending a public or private school. The operator must also keep a copy of the record.
Parents can be directed to our Report and Request an Immunization Record webpage to report their child's immunizations to the health unit.
If a parent chooses not to immunize, the Child Care Operator must direct the parent to contact the health unit at 1-877-721-7520 ext. 8827 to discuss and obtain the appropriate paperwork.
