Infectious Diseases

The communicable disease team is located out of our Barrie and Gravenhurst offices.

Public health nurses and Public health inspectors are responsible for:

• Investigating all suspect and confirmed reportable diseases
• Inspections of Day Nurseries, Personal Service Settings (tattooing, body piercing, salons)
• Ongoing surveillance of hospitals, long-term care homes, and day nurseries
• Responding to infection control concerns raised by the community
