Making the decision to have sex is a personal decision, having a conversation with your partner about whether or not you both want to have sex is important.  Take a look at the SexandU site for information related to sex, consent, birth control and STIs to make the best decision for you and your partner.

There are a couple of things to consider when talking about consent:  Actual consent for an activity and age of consent.

Sexual consent means saying yes to sexual activity. It’s important to realize that agreeing to one type of sexual activity doesn’t mean that a person is agreeing to other sex acts. Everyone has the right to decide whether or not they want to do something sexual and to change their mind at any point.

Information on  can be found at:  http://www.justice.gc.ca/eng/rp-pr/other-autre/clp/faq.html

For more information on consent what it means or strategies about how to talk to your partner about consent or not see the following links.
