Child Development

Children grow and change rapidly. Parents and caregivers play a big role in supporting their child's healthy growth and development.

Understanding how children grow and develop can help you keep your child safe (for example, by putting age-appropriate safety measures in place for your child's age and stage).  Monitoring your child's growth and development can also help you to decide when to talk to your child's health care provider, if you are concerned that your child is not reaching some milestones.

Developmental screens are one great way to keep track of your child’s progress. They can help you spot early concerns. Remember to seek out professional advice if you find any developmental concerns - early detection and help are key!
