Health Impacts

Monica Campbell from Toronto Public Health presented to GTA Clean Air Council on the Health Impact Assessment in Relation to Examining Health Inequities. The presentation included a case example, health assessment approaches and why health assessment is important in decision-making.

The Clean Air Commute is back! The Clean Air Commute is a week of friendly competition among workplaces, with the goal of reducing the pollutants in our air and our lungs. Joining the Clean Air Commute is a great way to reduce the carbon footprint of your employees.

Natural Resources

The Clean Air Partnership has created a report Green Building Policy and Guideline Scan. The scan includes established policies and guidelines; those under development and first steps.

Climate Change and Global Warming

The 2010 Clean Air and Climate Change Summit: Moving From Words to Actions will highlight the: achievements of GTA-CAC member jurisdictions in the implementation of the 2008 & 2009 GTA-CAC Declaration targets and actions and present priority GTA-CAC actions outlined in the 2010 “Inter-governmental Declaration on Clean Air and Climate Change”.

Transportation

The City of Brampton has a Pathways Master Plan. Read more for the background of the plan and the lessons learned developing the implementation plan.

 

A walkable and bikeable Ajax – a plan to solidify Ajax as a truly livable community. The presentation includes the five key moves: the plan, see it, integrate it, promote it and build it.

Energy Conservation

The Town of East Gwillimbury presented to the GTA Clean Air Council on their Community Energy Plan. The presentation included the overview of the plans process; lessons learned and next steps and implementation.

The Office of Energy Management presented on the Community Centre Conservation Challenge. The presentation included such topics as why invest in energy management, the role of the OEM and highlights from the Mayors Megawatt Challenge.
