Although women’s life expectancy is higher compared to men’s, women have more periods of long-term disability and chronic disease. Men are at more risk for accidents and social isolation that effects their health.
What can be done?
Governments can:
- Improve and enforce pay equity legislation to improve the employment and economic situation of women.
- improve access to employment insurance for all part-time workers
