COVID-19

Schools

We are committed to supporting the safe reopening of schools for the 2020-2021 school year under the Ministry of Education’s Guide to reopening Ontario’s schools.

In September, all elementary (Kindergarten to Grade 8) schools in Ontario opened for conventional in-person teaching and instruction, five days a week. Secondary schools in our area also opened in the conventional teaching model. Parents will continue to have the option to opt into at home remote learning at different points throughout the school year.

All schools reopened with enhanced health and safety protocols in place under the direction of the Ministry of Education and the Office of the Chief Medical Officer of Health. We are working closely with school boards and schools in Simcoe Muskoka to promote safe and healthy school environment protect the broader community.
