Food safety starts with you. Bacteria are everywhere, which is why it is so important to keep yourself and your kitchen in tip top shape. Cleaning and sanitizing are quick simple steps in order to minimize foodborne illness.

Washing your hands - for at least 15 seconds - and keeping foods cold are other easy ways to help prevent sickness. Campylobacter and Salmonella are the two most common bacteria involved with food and foodborne illness; however, they are also easily killed with heat. So remember when cooking food make sure the juices run clear and safe internal temperatures are reached.
