Eat Healthier and win an Xbox Kinect Sports Video Game at the Bracebridge Sportsplex

Apr 15, 2011
The Bracebridge Sportsplex is relaunching their Eat Smart! Recreation program with a healthier snack contest.

The Bracebridge Sportsplex is relaunching their Eat Smart! Recreation program with a healthier snack contest.

Starting April 18, when you purchase an Eat Smart! snack item from the vending machine, you may enter a draw for your chance to win an Xbox Kinect Sports Video Game.

Eat Smart! vending machine items are identified by the Eat Smart! sticker. These healthier snacks include baked chips, peanuts, grain based bars, pretzels, and your purchase of at least one of these vending machine items makes you eligible for the draw.

The Eat Smart! Recreation program makes it easier for people to choose healthier food while being active at the Sportsplex. In addition to the vending machine, look for the Eat Smart! menu items identified by the Eat Smart! logo at Oliver’s snack bar. Oliver’s, Gray Vending and the Town of Bracebridge are pleased to be working with the provincial Eat Smart! Recreation Program to offer healthier food choices.

Eat Smart! choices at Oliver’s include fresh fruit, whole grain bagels and sandwiches, milk, 100 per cent juice and yogurt. As well, all their spreads and dressings are lower fat. Gray Vending and the Town of Bracebridge offer at least 25 per cent healthier snack and drink options in their machines. These healthier options can be lower in trans and saturated fat, sugar, salt and higher in fibre.

Both the snack bar and the vending machines offer lots of Eat Smart! options so making the healthy choice will be the easy choice!

For more contest details, see posters at the Sportsplex vending machine or call Linda Hillman at the Sportsplex 705-645-3037 ext. 225.
