SIMCOE MUSKOKA – Do you know what a public health inspector looks for during a food premise inspection?

Find out tomorrow by joining the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit @SMDhealthunit on Twitter when we follow a public health inspector during an inspection of one of our local restaurants. The inspection begins at 10:00 a.m.

Public health inspectors do routine inspections of restaurants, as well as healthcare facilities, mobile food vendors, food stores and other food premises to ensure food is safe for the public. Those inspection reports are available to the public online at www.inspectionconnection.ca.

The public can also look for the green certificate of inspection sign at food establishments, which has the date of inspection listed to signify when the premise was last inspected.

For more information about food premise inspections or Inspection Connection, call Health Connection at 721-7520 or 1-877-721-7520 weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
