Low-cost rabies clinics for your pets

Oct 15, 2013
Veterinarians in Severn, Ramara and Oro-Medonte townships are holding low-cost rabies clinics until the end of this month.
SIMCOE MUSKOKA - Veterinarians in Severn, Ramara and Oro-Medonte townships are holding low-cost rabies clinics until the end of this month.
Pet owners in Muskoka are welcome to take advantage of the clinics. Clinics in Warminster, Brechin and Rama are the closest to Muskoka.
It’s not just good sense to get your pet vaccinated: it’s the law.
Pet owners have an important role to play in preventing animal bites and reducing the risk of transmission of rabies by taking the following precautions.
  • Don’t allow pets to wander, particularly at night.
  • Keep a distance from unfamiliar animals, particularly ones that appear sick.
  • Don’t feed wildlife.
  • Take measures to keep bats out of your home.
  • Make sure dog and cat rabies vaccinations are up-to-date (check with your veterinarian).

For clinic schedules and locations, visit www.simcoemuskokahealth.org or call Your Health Connection at 705-721-7520 or 1-877-721-7520 weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
