  • a B/Brisbane/60/2008-like virus.

  • It is recommended that quardrivalent vaccines containing two influenza B viruses contain the above three viruses and a B/Phuket/3073/2013-like virus.

Fact Sheets
Where can I get the flu shot this season?

Pharmacy - children 5 and older, and all adults
• Family Doctor - early immunization for high risk groups, all age groups
• Nurse Practitioner - early immunization for high risk groups, all age groups
• Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit – clients with no Ontario Health Card, children under 5 with no family doctor or nurse practitioner

What if I am bringing a grandchild, or someone unable to provide their own consent to a health unit flu clinic?

If you not the parent or legal guardian, you must come with a signed consent that gives direction to us to administer the flu shot to that particular person from the parent/legal guardian, or power of attorney for each person. If there is no signed consent we are unable to provide the flu vaccine to that person.
