Food Safety

Food recalls and warnings

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) works with industry, consumers and federal, provincial and municipal organizations towards protecting Canadians from food related health risks.

The CFIA or the Medical Officer of Health is responsible for issuing a food recall or warning when there is a reason to believe that food is contaminated or does not follow federal regulations. When a recall or advisory has been issued, our public health inspectors work with industry to ensure product is effectively removed from use or sale.

For current recalls, please click here or sign up for recall and warning e-mail notifications.
