The HPV vaccine is publicly funded for girls in grade 8. This means that the vaccine will be paid for by the Ontario government for any girl in grade 8 who has provided a signed consent form.
Those who wish to receive the vaccine from their health care provider will have to pay for the vaccine. Students who are unable to receive the vaccine at school will be able to make an appointment with the health unit to receive the funded vaccine at a health unit clinic.
