Healthy Eating

March is National Nutrition Month across Canada

recipes and healthy eating tips

Do you know what strengthens family ties, passes on valued traditions, teaches skills and improves the family diet? Cooking together!  This year’s Nutrition Month theme, “Celebrate food … from field to table”, invites families to cook and eat healthy, tasty meals together using foods grown close to home. Cooking together is a recipe for fun that can also help develop good eating habits. Even the pickiest eaters are more likely to eat food they helped make, so get everyone involved!

Use Nutrition Month as an opportunity to include more healthy local foods in meals and snacks made at home.  Spending more food dollars on foods grown or raised close to home benefits the local economy, helps keep local farmers farming and land in use for producing food.
