Health Status

The health unit collects and analyzes a variety of data to determine public health trends and issues. To better understand the impact of the social determinants of health it is important to analyze data in relation to income, education, culture, geography and other subsections of the population, such as sex and age.

The health unit’s HealthSTATS site provides current information for Simcoe Muskoka, including data on socio-economic characteristics such as income, education, housing, employment and single parent families.

In October 2015, the health unit published  a Low Income FOCUS Report (pdf) which features data and other information related to low income and its impact on health in Simcoe Muskoka.
