5 Easy Steps to a Healthy Smile

1. Brush your teeth a minimum of 2 times each day, for 2 minutes each time after breakfast and before bed. It’s a simple and effective way to prevent tooth decay and gum disease.  Don’t rush your brush!
2. Floss your teeth once a day. Dental floss reaches many areas that your toothbrush can’t.
3. Eat a well-balanced diet and avoid excessive snacking between meals especially sticky, sweet things such as candy. If you can’t brush chew sugarless gum containing xylitol to prevent decay.
4. Visit your dentist and dental hygienist regularly for check-ups and cleanings.
5. Keep an eye on your gums for signs of gum disease. Puffy, red or tender gums, gums that bleed or lasting bad breath are signs that you need to see your dentist or dental hygienist right away.
