Calling all families… the challenge is ON!

The Active Family Challenge is simple:

Your local Good for Life committee is challenging you and your family to have fun and be active this May!

Get the whole family more physically active by participating in at least 6 activities together. Submit your ballot by June 6 and enter a chance to win great prizes!

Grand prizes include:

  • $1,000 gift certificate
  • YMCA of Simcoe Muskoka annual family membership
  • Annual Family Provincial Parks Pass

See other local prizes listed below.

Submit your ballot by Friday June 6 th, 2008

Why?
Good for Life recognizes the importance of physical activity in reducing adults’ and children’s risk of chronic disease, such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease, stroke and some types of cancer.

In 2006, 3 out of 5 Canadian children ages 5-17 were not active enough for best growth and development. Physical inactivity in childhood can lead to inactivity in adulthood. In 2003, 44% of Simcoe Muskoka residents ages 12 and over reported being physically inactive.

The Active Family Challenge can help your family make physical activity part of your daily lives.

During the month of May, take advantage of all the fun, free activities your community has to offer!
