Recently the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) launched a survey called Foodbook to get a better idea of the food choices Canadians make.
Information from the survey will show what foods Canadians eat that are most likely to be the cause of outbreaks of diseases. It will only take about 10 minutes to complete the survey where you’ll be asked about what types of food you've eaten over the last seven days.
It can be very difficult to track down the exact cause of an outbreak. The information collected will be very important when public health investigates foodborne illness outbreaks. A database of data from the survey will help narrow down possible causes and speed up investigations.
You can help improve our food safety system and the Government of Canada’s response to future illness outbreaks by taking the survey.
