Office Hours During the Holiday Period


The Simcoe Muskoka Board of Health and the staff of the Simcoe Muskoka District Health unit wish you a happy holiday, and a healthy New Year!

Office hours

The health unit offices will be closed Monday, Dec. 25 and Tuesday, Dec. 26.

Offices will be closed again on Monday, Jan. 1, 2018.

Through the remainder of the holiday period, the health unit will be open for normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Water bottle collection

  • Drinking water sample drop-offs cannot be accepted on Dec. 22 through Dec. 26. Samples can again be dropped off beginning Wednesday, Dec. 27.
  • During the New Year's week, normal water sample drop-off times will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 2.
  • For drinking water emergencies during the holiday, please contact the Orillia Public Health Laboratory at 705-325-7449 and you will be provided with the appropriate contact information.

When preparing your holiday meal don't forget to separate, clean, cook and chill food properly, and make the holidays memorable for the right reasons.

After hours—In the event of an emergency

Emergencies that require immediate response such as chemical spills, disease outbreak notification, or other major public health incidents should be directed to the staff on call at 1-888-225-7851. 

If you have a medical emergency call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
