  • The flu clinic at the Huntsville Place Mall offered by the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit on Saturday Dec. 12 has been cancelled due to poor weather. 

  • The flu clinic in the Utterson Community Hall offered by the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit is cancelled for Thursday Dec. 10 due to inclement weather.  

  • All flu clinics offered by the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit across Simcoe Muskoka are cancelled for Wednesday Dec. 9 due to inclement weather. 

  • SIMCOE – Traffic at the health unit H1N1 flu vaccine clinics has eased off, so now might be a good time to head out and get your flu shot. The clinics are open until 8 p.m. tonight, for anyone who fits in the high priority groups.  

  • People in central and northern Muskoka can also get the flu shot at the health unit’s H1N1 flu clinic in Gravenhurst Thursday as a good alternative to waiting for Friday or Saturday’s clinics.  

  • All appointments for today’s H1N1 flu clinics in Barrie have now been assigned and anyone continuing to wait will be given appointments for tomorrow. The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit is advising those in the high priority groups who are interested in getting their H1N1 flu immunization that they can attend the clinic at 80 Bradford St. in Barrie tomorrow, Wednesday Nov. 4, to be assigned an appointment for their vaccination.  

  • The health unit’s Your Health Connection phone line will be staffed this Saturday, Oct. 31, to answer residents’ questions about H1N1 and the upcoming immunization clinics. 

  • Talks with Town of Bracebridge and District of Muskoka staff have now yielded a location for public influenza vaccine clinics in Bracebridge at the Sportsplex on 110 Clearbrook. As well, some of Huntsville’s clinics have been moved up earlier in the schedule.

  • Immunizations are the best way to protect yourself from preventable diseases such as measles, pertussis (whooping cough) and tetanus.
