SIMCOE MUSKOKA – For every person who dies prematurely from smoking, another 30 people will live with the diseases it causes. Don’t make that trade-off. Commit to quit and sign up for a free STOP workshop being hosted by the health unit across the region.

At the workshop you will learn more about the quitting process, how to avoid triggers to smoke and how to deal with cravings. You can also get a free supply of nicotine replacement patches and instruction on how to use them correctly.

Workshops are free to adults who are regular tobacco users, but you must register in advance through Health Connection. Call 705-721-7520 or 1-877-721-7520 any time Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Want to do it on your own? Visit our Facebook page Tobacco-Free Chatter to learn how other people have quit and to share your story. Self-help materials, STOP Workshop dates, mobile apps and challenges can be found on the health unit website www.simcoemuskokahealth.org.
