Spots still available for Quit Smoking Workshop and free nicotine patches

08 Nov 2011

There are still a few spots open for a three-hour quit smoking workshop that will include a five-week supply of nicotine patches to help support smokers who are ready to quit.

It’s part of the STOP program being offered by the health unit in partnership with the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health. The evening workshop is open to 50 participants. It is taking place in Wasaga Beach on Wednesday, Nov. 16 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. A morning workshop has also been scheduled in Midland on Tuesday, Nov. 15 from 9 a.m. to noon.

Adults ready to quit smoking must pre-register for the workshop and provide some basic information about their smoking behavior before being accepted into the workshop. For more information and to register for the workshop call Your Health Connection weekdays, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 705-721-7520 or 1-877-721-7520.
