This manual was created to assist the development and maintenance of an Infection Prevention and Control Program.

Although the information provided in this manual refers to Long-Term Care Homes and Rest & Retirement Homes, the basic principles may also be applied in other settings.

• As of April 14, 2010 all Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care guidance documents regarding pH1N1 are no longer in effect.  Health care providers are directed to refer to the Routine Practice and Additional Precautions in all Health Care Settings document from the Provincial Infectious Diseases Advisory Committee.
