Private Well Water

ATTENTION: Due to on-going rotating postal strikes, timely delivery of water bottles to the Public Health Lab may be affected if there is a postal strike in our area. You may also experience delays in receiving your water analysis report from the Public Health Lab. Consider using the blue card that will allow you to call the lab for your results three days after dropping off.  Put the bar code label on the blue card and keep it.  Or, you can choose to pick up your results from the lab itself in Orillia (750 Memorial Dr.).  If you choose this option be sure to check it off on the form.

Drinking Water

To be sure your drinking water is safe you should test your well water at least three times per year. Water sample bottles can be picked up and dropped off at any of our health unit offices and dropped off at 6 of our 8 offices (offices in Orillia and 80 Bradford Street Barrie do not accept water bottle drop off). Please check with your local office for water sample drop-off times. The public health inspectors on the water team are here to help. After you get your results they can interpret them for you and provide guidance on any corrective action needed.

Visit our drinking water section  for information on how to take a sample, where to get bottles and drop samples off, and what your results mean. To speak with a public health inspector about your results call Your Health Connection Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, at (705) 721-7520 or 1 877 721-7520.
