Day Nurseries

Public health inspectors are required to inspect licensed day nurseries to be sure that they use appropriate infection prevention and control practices to reduce the risk of transmitting infectious disease. 

Inspections occur at minimum once a year and cover the following areas:

• hygiene and disinfection practices
• hand hygiene
• diapering and toileting practices
• prevention of infections that can be passed on through occupational practices
• management of and response to infectious diseases in the day nursery 
• policies for exclusion and isolation
• and more
