Raising Responsible Teenagers session coming to Barrie library

BARRIE – What makes teenagers tick? It’s a question a lot of parents ask as their kids start seeking greater independence and challenging the household rules.

The Triple P program, coming to Barrie Public Library next week, can offer some answers.

The library and Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit are jointly holding the Raising Responsible Teens session on Feb. 13.

Parents coming to the 90-minute session meet with other parents to learn about skills to reduce conflict and improve family relationships, and to help their teen manage their swings of emotion, develop a healthy lifestyle and manage peer pressures among friends.

A public health nurse will be facilitating the session, which takes place on Tuesday, Feb. 13 beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Parents will need to register ahead of time. They can do so online on the library’s website at, under programs, or call the library at 705-728-1010 ext. 7020.
