Jan 05, 2017
SIMCOE MUSKOKA - It’s a new year and with it comes the promise of a healthier 2017. Want to improve your odds for good health, not just this year, but every year? Quit smoking!

SIMCOE MUSKOKA - It’s a new year and with it comes the promise of a healthier 2017. Want to improve your odds for good health, not just this year, but every year? Quit smoking!

Find your motivation and stop the tobacco tradeoff. You don’t just risk dying younger if you smoke. For every person who dies from a tobacco related illness, 30 will live with the damaging consequences.

If you need help getting started on the road to smoke-free living, sign up for a free three-hour STOP smoking workshop being hosted by the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit.

You will learn more about the quitting process, how to avoid triggers and how to deal with cravings. You can also get free nicotine replacement patches and instruction on how to use them correctly.

Workshops are free to adults who are regular tobacco users, but you must register in advance through Health Connection. Call 705-721-7520 or 1-877-721-7520 any time Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Want to do it on your own? Visit our website at simcoemuskokahealth.org for free apps, tracking tools, upcoming quit challenges and to learn how other people have quit. STOP Workshop dates are updated regularly.
