The Global Breastfeeding Challenge is a fun and friendly competition in which families come together and attempt to set the record for the most children breastfeeding simultaneously.

Date:                Saturday Oct. 3, 2015

Time:               Registration begins at 10 a.m. latch on begins at 11 a.m.

Location:          Ontario Early Years Centre Simcoe Grey

                        13 Wellington Street West, Alliston

There will be activities for children, and information and support for breastfeeding families and parents-to-be. The purpose of this challenge is to bring awareness to breastfeeding, and demonstrate promotion, protection and support for breastfeeding women and their families.

The challenge coincides with the launch of a campaign by the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit reminding the public that women need support and encouragement to breastfeed anytime and anywhere, wherever their children need them. Look for life-sized photographic cutouts of local women breastfeeding their children at community –partner locations. And watch for breastfeeding is welcome signs at local business, community and municipal organizations.
