Protect yourself from West Nile virus and Lyme disease this summer

Bites from mosquitoes and ticks are annoying, but in some cases they can also make you sick. Protect yourself from West Nile virus (WNv) and Lyme disease by preventing tick and mosquito bites.
SIMCOE MUSKOKA – Bites from mosquitoes and ticks are annoying, but in some cases they can also make you sick. Protect yourself from West Nile virus (WNv) and Lyme disease by preventing tick and mosquito bites. To prevent bites, wear light-coloured, loose-fitting long-sleeved shirts and pants and use insect repellent according to manufacturer’s directions. Avoid going outside when mosquitoes are most active, and avoid shrubs or grassy areas as ticks are usually found close to the ground.
