Health unit offers free nicotine patch to help smokers quit

The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit is looking for adult smokers in Simcoe and Muskoka who are ready to make a quit smoking attempt.

SIMCOE MUSKOKA - The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit is looking for adult smokers in Simcoe and Muskoka who are ready to make a quit smoking attempt. Participants who qualify for the STOP smoking study can obtain free nicotine replacement patches. Pre-registration for the study and attendance at one of the following March workshops is mandatory.

 

Orillia                        Thurs. March 21       9 a.m. to noon

Allliston                     Thurs. March 21      6 p.m. to 9 p.m. 

Barrie                        Tues.  March 26      7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Barrie                        Wed. March 27         7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Gravenhurst              Wed. March 27      10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Stayner                      Wed. March 27      5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

 

The exact location of the workshop will be provided at time of registration.

The STOP study is being offered in partnership with the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, and is funded by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care as part of its Smoke-Free Ontario Strategy.
