Your baby’s growth: a good topic for Play together—Grow together

Feb 11, 2013
Every parent wonders at some point if their child is “normal.” Is he learning to speak at the right time? Is it okay if she’s not walking yet? Why does he have those temper tantrums?

Every parent wonders at some point if their child is “normal.” Is he learning to speak at the right time? Is it okay if she’s not walking yet? Why does he have those temper tantrums?

It’s important to learn what to watch for, and what the milestones are in a child’s growth. And it’s just as important to know how to help your child develop to the best of their potential.

One quick measuring tool is the18-month well baby screening visit with your doctor. It’s a meeting with the doctor with time set aside to discuss your baby’s development in detail.

Information about the 18-month well baby visit can be found in Play together—Grow together, the Facebook page tailor-made for parents of infants and toddlers, created by the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit.
