Safe Kids Week, May 30 - June 5

May 26, 2011
This year the Safe Kids Week focus is all about car seats.

This year the Safe Kids Week focus is all about car seats. Car seats have changed a lot over the years and their presence has helped reduce deaths and injuries to children immensely, but they work best when installed correctly.

The Canadian Pediatric Society notes the most common errors are:

  • seat not secured tightly enough (less than an inch movement side-to-side and front-to-back)
  • harness system not snug (should be able to fit one finger between strap and harness) and
  • chest clip not at armpit level.

If you have questions about your child’s car seat, read the instructions again and give Your Health Connection a call at 1-877-721-7520 or visit

You make Every Ride a Safe Ride.
