BRADFORD – On October 1st the Global Breastfeeding Challenge 2016 will take place in Bradford, and all breastfeeding families are invited to join in! The Global Breastfeeding Challenge is a fun and friendly competition in which families come together and attempt to set the record for the most children breastfeeding simultaneously.

Global Breastfeeding Challenge

Date:               Saturday, October 1, 2016

Time:              Registration begins at 10 a.m., “Latch On” at 11 a.m.

Location:        Bradford West Gwillimbury Public Library-Green Room

425 Holland Street West, Bradford

The purpose of this challenge is to bring awareness to breastfeeding, and demonstrate promotion, protection and support for breastfeeding women and their families. Being able to breastfeed whenever and wherever a child is hungry or needs comfort is critical to breastfeeding success.

The Bradford community is already welcoming breastfeeding. Join other businesses and organizations and display a welcome sign for breastfeeding. Breastfeeding is Welcome signs are available for local businesses, community and municipal organizations wanting to show their support.

Breastfeeding Week is celebrated in 120 countries. In Canada, our national celebration takes place each year from October 1st to 7th. It is promoted by INFACT Canada and the World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action and is supported by Unicef and The World Health Organization.
