INNISFIL – The Global Breastfeeding Challenge 2016 takes place October 1st, and all breastfeeding families are invited to join in at the Innisfil ideaLAB & Library, Lakeshore Branch! The Global Breastfeeding Challenge is a fun and friendly competition in which families come together and attempt to set the record for the most children breastfeeding simultaneously.

Date:   Saturday Oct. 1, 2016

Time: Registration begins at 10 a.m.
drop-in story time begins at 10:30 a.m.
latch on follows at 11 a.m.

Location: Innisfil ideaLAB & Library, Lakeshore Branch

The purpose of this challenge is to bring awareness to breastfeeding, and demonstrate promotion, protection and support for breastfeeding women and their families.

The Innisfil community is already welcoming breastfeeding. Join other businesses and organizations and display a welcome sign for breastfeeding. Breastfeeding is Welcome signs are available for local businesses, community and municipal organizations wanting to show their support.

Watch for a life-sized photographic cutout of a local woman breastfeeding her child on display at the Innisfil ideaLAB & library. The cutout is an approach the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit uses to remind the public that women need support and encouragement to breastfeed anytime and anywhere, wherever their children need them.
